I’ve talked about glowing skin before, and these experts prove my point even more! The secret to radiant skin comes from good nutrition, adequate sleep, and a healthy dose of stress management.
Try these three additional simple tips for great skin:
- Always pair a mask with an exfoliator—this was a trick I learned when working in the cosmetics industry. Exfoliating is a great way to slough away dead skin and encourage cell renewal. Post-exfoliation is actually a great time to also apply a mask if you have time. This is the ideal time because your skin can really soak in whatever mask you apply. I’m pretty choosy about the products I use, so often I whip up natural, plant-based exfoliators and homemade masks.
- Try a healing oil at night—I’m a big fan of using oils at night instead of using a traditional night cream. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the luxurious feel of night cream, but I like to switch things up every now and then (especially on DIY spa night). Coconut oil is very en vogue these days, but don’t be afraid of trying different oils. These days, I’ve been really into organic extra-virgin olive oil. It might sound weird, but it works!
- Don’t underestimate a good night’s sleep—Ask any celebrity what they do for glowing skin, and they’ll definitely take a moment to emphasize the importance of sleep and rest. Everyone’s sleep needs are different (seniors, for instance, need less sleep than teenagers and young adults). Whatever you do, try making a habit of getting to bed and waking up at the same time. It really does make a difference in your energy levels and appearance!
Healthy and radiant skin truly comes from the inside out. Sure, different oils, creams, treatments, and lifestyle modifications can help. Combine these tips with a sound diet for skin that glows!
